An email is one recipient — to, cc and bcc each count; suppressed, refused or cancelled sends never do. Each added domain counts as one, whether it is example.com or mail.example.com. Pro has no plan-based domain limit; verification, abuse controls and provider capacity still apply.

Is Waymail an SMTP server?

No. You send through the HTTP API, the TypeScript SDK, the Resend-compatible API or MCP, and Amazon SES does the delivery. SMTP submission is on our roadmap; tell us if it is what you need.

Am I locked in?

No more than you were. Waymail speaks the Resend API, so switching in or out is two environment variables, and everything you store — messages, contacts, suppressions, delivery history — comes back out through the same API you put it in with.

What do you keep, and for how long?

Message bodies for 7, 30, 60 or 90 days as you choose — or not at all. Delivery history for 30 days, 90 days or 13 months by plan. Change a setting and it applies to what is already stored, not only to new mail. The privacy policy lists every period.

How does the unsubscribe work for transactional email?

It doesn't, on purpose. Password resets and receipts carry no unsubscribe link and no List-Unsubscribe header — a person cannot opt out of their own account security mail. Marketing email gets both, per topic, from the first send.
